Nutrition Assessment


In children with CKD, it is suggested that nutrition and growth parameters be monitored twice as frequently as they would be in a healthy child of the same age, with the greatest frequency in infants under one year and in children with advanced stages of CKD. 

The nutrition assessment of a child with CKD stages two to five and children on dialysis therapy may include the following parameters using NCP terminology:
