Goals for a child with ECC should be determined in conjunction with the client/caregiver, and should be specific to the individual. Goals that are set should be time-sensitive, easily measured, and achievable by the nutrition intervention. Both short-term and long-term goals may be set. Examples of short- and long-term goals include:    
  • to reduce the intake of free sugar-sweetened beverages from eight to two per week by the next scheduled appointment (in one month).
