These statements are provided as examples only and will not apply to all individuals:
- Increased nutrient needs due to malnutrition related to malabsorption as evidenced by weight loss and nutrient deficiencies (e.g. vitamin A, vitamin D).
- Unintentional weight loss related to increased energy expenditure and poor lung function as evidenced by a 3-5 kg weight loss in the past
