Study Overview
A cohort study (1) was recently captured in a number of newspaper headlines, 'Red Meat Intake Causes Early Death'. A cohort study is a type of observational study in which researchers are able to determine associations between various factors. However, this type of study design does not show cause-effect relationships. The media headline indicating that red meat intake causes early death is not an accurate interpretation of the published study.
