Bio:Karol Traviss is a senior instructor and the dietetics program leader at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to joining UBC, Karol worked for more than 20 years in clinical and clinical leadership roles within health care. Karol has extensive experience volunteering her time to advance the dietetics profession in Canada, and in 2013 was named Fellow of Dietitians of Canada to acknowledge her professional contributions. She is presently co-chair of the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice and co-chair of the Dietitians of Canada Accreditation Committee. She recently served on the national working group on dietetics competencies, and is a past member of the Dietitians of Canada Board of Directors.
