Bio:Karen Davison has worked in clinical, community, and administrative dietetics for more than 15 years. She completed a PhD in health research at the University of Calgary followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in the Intersections of Mental Health Perspectives in Addictions Research Training program. Karen works as a principal investigator conducting research on food insecurity and the transitioning from incarceration in UBC’s School of Nursing. Her research interests are in the areas of mental health and nutrition; particularly the effects of marginalization and food insecurity. Karen is also the acting academic coordinator in health studies at Athabasca University and an instructor in the new Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
