Goals for a child or adolescent with chronic kidney disease should be determined in conjunction with the caregiver or client, and should be specific to the individual. Goals that are set should be time-sensitive, easily measured, and achievable by the nutrition intervention. Both short-term and long-term goals may be set. Examples of short- and long-term goals include:    
  • by the next scheduled nutrition visit, liberalize protein intake by increasing portions of meat/fish/poultry
