Bio:
Sandy Murray is a lecturer in Food, Nutrition and Public Health within the School of Health Science, University of Tasmania and has 30 years’ experiences as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian. She has a strong research interest in food security, local food systems and sustainability and is committed to promoting the benefits of eating local food and supporting local farmers. Over the past five years, she has worked on a number of food security projects investigating the cost, affordability and availability of food across Tasmania as well as a review of local food systems in Tasmania. Sandy is a member of the University of Tasmania Sustainability Committee and helped establish the Tasmanian Regional Centre of Expertise in in Education for Sustainable Development. She is also a PhD candidate focusing on food insecurity among university students.
