Bio:
Andrea Buchholz is a Professor of Applied Human Nutrition in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph. She teaches graduate clinical nutrition and undergraduate applied clinical skills, including nutrition-focused physical examination. Her biological research focuses on obesity prevention in families and understanding calcium and dairy consumption habits of Canadians. Her educational research focuses on the impact of patient simulations on students’ learning and practice competence, and the experiences of Canadian dietitians’ experiences in using simulations to learn the Nutrition Care Process. Andrea has published 58 peer-reviewed articles in the scientific literature, including those on teaching and learning, and is a 3M National Teaching Fellow. She is also a comedic improviser.
