Gastroparesis is defined as abnormal gastric motility and delayed gastric emptying in the absence of physical obstruction (1-3). Diabetic gastroparesis is an autonomic complication of diabetes with multi-factorial causes (4). Several risk factors have been identified in the development of gastroparesis including diabetes duration of >10 years, elevated A1C levels and the presence of microvascular and/or macrovascular complications (2).
