The use of dietary and herbal supplements is increasing and, with it, the risk for drug-nutrient interactions. Estimates from around the world report that 69% of Australians (1), 53% of Canadians (2) and 37% of individuals from the U.K. (3) are using supplements. Furthermore, surveys indicate that the concurrent use of prescription medications and supplements is common, and that less than half of these individuals discussed supplement use with their health care
