- Excessive fluid intake, related to cardiac dysfunction (heart failure), as evidenced by ankle edema and shortness of breath.
- Excessive mineral intake (sodium) related to food and nutrition knowledge deficit concerning food sources of sodium, as evidenced by shortness of breath and exercise intolerance
