Nutrition Assessment


The nutrition assessment forms the basis for developing the diabetes nutritional care plan. An element of the nutrition assessment includes an evaluation of the individual’s usual carbohydrate intake including the proportion of daily energy from carbohydrate, proportion of fibre, added sugars, use of nutritive and non-nutritive fluids and timing of intake.
