Goals for an individual with reactive hypoglycemia should be determined in conjunction with the client and should be specific to the individual. Goals that are set should be time-sensitive, easily measured and achievable by the nutrition intervention. Both short-term and long-term goals may be set.
 
Examples of short-term and long-term goals include:
  • to substitute one high glycemic index food with a lower glycemic food at breakfast on at least three days for the next week.
